From the beginning, OKTA contributed to the development of trade by introducing experienced Overseas Korean Traders who played a key role in expanding trade among countries and Korea in the new trade market of the 21st century.   Trends of international trade have reformed where now no geographical national boundaries exist, opening up markets to endless competition amongst traders worldwide. Trade has been developed to a new type of ecology, combining various kinds of areas beyond the "normal" dimension of trade among countries.   World-OKTA with its Overseas Korean Traders will keep up with these dynamic trends, and endeavor to increase Korea's competitiveness externally, and strive continuously for the growth of trade and commerce worldwide by exchanging valuable information internally amongst its members, to promote and expand the marketing of overseas trade.   World-OKTA will make every effort to provide advanced trade services and continuously endeavor to support and work in partnership with Overseas Korean Traders spread throughout the world. 조국의 무역 증진과 국위 선양을 위하여 1981년 4월 2일 미국 및
일본을 중심으로한 세계 각국 한인 무역상 조직으로 결성되었으며,
모국과의 긴밀한 유대강화를 기하고 산업정보 및 기타 회원 상호
간에 이익증진과 협조를 강화하기 위하여 ‘통상부’(현,산업자원부)
지도아래 KOTRA 지원으로 조직된 후 1994년 사단법인으로 설립되었으며

We introduce the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Association Inc.

to you.OKTA, the Overseas Korean Traders Association, was established as an

international Korean trading organization centered around the US and Japan

on the 2nd of April 1981, in order to promote our home country’s trading industry

and enhance our country’s prestige. It is an international overseas economic/

trading organization incorporated in 1994 under the guidance of the Korean

Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy and with the support of KOTRA

with the aim of enhancing the relationship with our home country and of increasing

mutual cooperation and benefits from industry information among its members.

Business between Domestic Small & Medium Sized Enterprises & Overseas Agents

In the past, Korean small & medium sized enterprises faced difficulties to handle trends of international trade effectively.World-OKTA, in collaboration with organizations promoting exports is arranging one-to-one matching services between Korean small & medium sized enterprises with World-OKTA members worldwide. Also, World-OKTA provides services for small & medium sized Korean enterprises to establish overseas branches and agents.

Leaders Convention and Workshop (The Mother Land Export Promotion Conference)

Overseas Korean Economic Network Convention We provide a convention where Overseas Korean Traders and businesspersons come together to declare to resolve matters harmoniously. At this convention, not only is export consulting with Korea’s small and medium sized companies conducted, but international trade amongst members is also achieved. Overseas Korean Next Generation Trade School This trade school is for young future traders worldwide, who fluently speak their nations’ local language(s) and have been educated and have grown up within their local country. Young traders are thus seen as potential trade frontier persons in the future markets. World-OKTA supports and trains these youngsters and endeavors to train up 10,000 overseas “Korean Cadets” with in 10 years. Spring/Fall Seminar of Korean National Assembly Trade and Economy Forum for Overseas Koreans The Overseas Trade and Economic Forum of the National Assembly is heldto incorporate in its policy drafts the knowledge of the 7 million Korean Overseas Traders to influence Korea’s economy policies. Thus, World-OKTA holds Spring/Fall Seminars in collaboration with the NationalAssembly every year.     North Korea Business Committe This committee investigates the effect and results of the Pyongyang OKTA Trade Fair held in 2004 and also examine the 2nd Trade Fair and additional businesses. Based on these findings, this committee precedes business with North Korea. Opening of World-OKTA’s Business Center for Members World-OKTA has opened a Business Center for its members in Korea to assist and support its members who visit Korea, for business purposes. Operation of the International Commerce Trade Institute and Overseas Korean Economy Institute   Research into the Overseas Korean Economy and the gathering of statistical data for Overseas Korean policies are vital for the continuous development of Korea’s overseas trade. We support Overseas Korean Economists to research the Overseas Korean Economy through networking and also in researching the future of World-OKTA. Overseas Korean Traders Network Database   This is an internet information network binding database of Overseas Korean Traders in the world. We support in the expansion of this network and business marketing for branch and persons
